Welcome to Goba Day, where you can become a Goba Farmer and help feed the people of Goba land during the drought.

As a skilled Goba Farmer, it is your duty to grow and harvest as many Gobas as possible. The Gobas are the only fruit that thrive during the drought, so it is up to you to ensure that the people of Goba land have enough to eat.

Every five years, it's Goba Day! Everybody loves Goba Day! Hopefully you have a Goba for everybody? DO YOU? Are you ready to Goba Goba and save the day?

My job as a farmer is over. I am sure the Goba village was wiped out later because in my last day as a farmer I gave away every goba fruit leaving only 1 for the next generation.

simple calming game with great artstyle.

a legend, truly.

I love how throwing together a few simple mechanics that are interlinked cause so many different outcomes to be possible. Focus too much on one thing and it comes back to haunt you down the line. Neglect something and it may go well for a bit, but then the long-term effect comes into play!

Wonderful! Amazing job Yan / Jonas! ^^ Great devlog aswell, I loved watching y'all un-make the game. Differently a unique strategy to gamedev I've never seen before.

I am very worried about the community I left behind me. when I got the first child, there only 2 adults left. As far as I can tell, all my remaining citizens are siblings :-/

With some things in the world of Goba, it's.... best not to think about it.

Simple yet effective. Really addictive gameplay loop. Failed a couple times but wanted to keep going to see if I can win this. Got 12 points in the end. Well done Johnas :)

Make important decisions, we only have so much time. Choose who lives and dies. Sacrifice the old, choose the young, manage precious resources (space and time). I felt like a true farmer.

  • What a great strategy game. I enjoy that careful decision has a lasting effect on the outcome. I appreciate the tips each round, I like learning along the way.
  • I love the music; the drums feel primal, dire, and it evolves to something emotional and emulates how short and precious life is. I especially like when the nice music comes in, and the pretty sunrays and grass/plucky fx.

Incredible game, you two.

Some comments:

  • I cannot unfeed people. I guess that's life :)
  • Would be cool to know the statistics of the person after feeding (on mouseover with goba or something), but life doesn't really give us hints either :)

Thanks for your comments & thoughts. Sacrificing the old definitely doesn't pay off in this game. If you don't feed the old they're likely going to give you negative points. If you feed them and they still die, you even get double points!

Unfeeding people would be really mean haha. Like you just made that person happy by giving them what they needed just to disappoint them again by taking it away :0
